A Novel Trick or Treat

Tonight all kinds of ghosts and goblins will be ringing our doorbells saying, “Trick or treat!” We’ll have spent a fortune on candy (and will be kicking ourselves for each piece of it we ate ourselves). What’s in it for us on Halloween?

A terrific contest! And your own chance to go Trick or Treating.

Deb Hale, Julianne MacLean, Michelle Willingham, Donna Alward, Darlene Gardner, Deb Marlowe, and I all have our virtual porch lights and our virtual jack-o-lanterns lit and – for some lucky commenters – some great treats.

What’s the trick? You have to do something!

For my treat you have to go to my FACEBOOK FAN PAGE. There will be a Halloween question there - What was your favorite Halloween costume?

Just comment on my Facebook page (you might have to “like” me  first) and tell me what your favorite costume was when you were small or when an adult. Or tell what was your favorite costume that your children wore. You don’t have to be clever. I’ll choose the winners at random.

My favorite costume was when I was in 5th grade. I dressed up in my father’s fatigues and his army helmet. It was such a hoot, because no one could tell that I was a girl. My favorite costume for my daughter was the Snow White costume my mother made for her when she was three years old. I still have it. For my son my favorite one was when he was about 5. I put him in his yellow slicker, his rain boots and put a plastic fireman hat on him. And he really looked like a fireman!

Go to my Facebook page, “like” me, and tell me your favorite costume story. You are automatically entered to win. I’m choosing two winners. The Treat for the first winner will be a signed copy of the UK version of The Vanishing Viscountess, which includes my first book, The Mysterious Miss M. The second Treat, for winner number two, will be some British candy, Assorted Humbugs, sent directly to the winner’s home (US or Canada only).

But that’s not all! When you finish at my “house,” walk on to Darlene Gardner‘s house! Darlene will have treats for you to win, as well, (the real treat is her Christmas Superromance, The Christmas Gift-fabulous Christmas story!). Darlene will tell you what the trick is to win her treat and she’ll send you to the next house.

Here’s the whole “neighborhood”

Diane Gaston

Darlene Gardener

Deb Marlowe

Deb Hale

Julianne MacLean

Michelle Willingham

Donna Alward

We’ll lead you one to the other, just as if you were walking from one house to the other.

I’ll select my winners by midnight Pacific time and announce them on Facebook tomorrow and here on Thursday.

Trick or Treat!!!

This is one of those cases where morally objecting to Facebook just sucks.

    Oh well.

    Happy Halloween anyway!

(my own moral objection being not having an account nor caring to get one *kicking rock*)

This was a fun idea. I wish I were able to get to the computer earlier in the evenings. I am getting to posts much too late.

Hope you had a great Halloween.

  6. Very nice pattern and wonderful subject matter, nothing else we need : D.
