Before we know it (like in two weeks!) it will be Thanksgiving Day, but I was thinking a little early of something I’m thankful about. How lucky I am to live where I live, in the Northern Virginia suburbs of Washington, D.C.
Here is what my husband saw on his brief lunchtime walk on Capitol Hill this week:
The U.S. Capitol
The Library of Congress
Last weekend, my husband and I took a walk at Burke Lake Park, near where we live
Here’s a photo of my husband taking a photo of me:
Years ago we considered moving to New Jersey, which, contrary to popular belief, deserves the name The Garden State, and is a place we both still like a lot. Even so, when we were driving back from New Jersey and we crossed into Virginia, I felt incredibly sad that I wouldn’t be living in this beautiful place anymore.
I am so thankful we didn’t move. We’re still here! And I feel so lucky for it.
What is beautiful about where you live? Where have you taken a walk lately?
