As you know, the Harlequin Historical Author Holiday Giveaway is back with the Grand Prize of a Kindle Fire. (Click on the first days on the Advent calendar and enter, if you haven’t already, for the most chances to win, and return here tomorrow to enter on my day!)
I’ve made no secret that I love my Kindle! So when Amazon announced the Kindle Fire, my little fingers immediately tapped on my laptop. I must have been one of the first orders. My Kindle Fire arrived on November 15 and I’ve been playing with it since.
That said, it is a little slow. And heavier than my regular Kindle and its battery doesn’t last as long. It is a bit harder than the Kindle to hold in one hand and turn the pages–but not much. I actually have not gone back to reading on my old Kindle at all.
My husband has an iPad, which he calls his favorite gizmo of all times. He’s had lots of gizmos, too. The Kindle Fire is not as fast as the iPad and its functions are not quite as wonderful as the iPad (as you can read here), but because I primarily want to read on the device, I like the Kindle Fire’s smaller size. And you can’t beat the price.
It’s a terrific Grand Prize for our Harlequin Historical Author Holiday contest. So don’t forget to enter every day. You’ll have 21 chances to win the Kindle Fire and 21 chances to win daily prizes, too.
Tomorrow come back here for my calendar day. Entering will be easy and I’m giving away two $10 Amazon gift certificates, one tomorrow and one Dec 23.
And don’t forget my website contest. I’m selecting a new winner on Dec 15.
