Gaming Hell One

I am in the last few days of finishing the book I’m calling (for want of a good title) Gaming Hell One, so I have little time to write a blog!

Here instead are some Gambling-related images:

This image is from 1792  by Thomas Rowlandson and depicts a gaming den and a hazard table. Hazard plays a big part in my book. A little early for the Regency but the idea is the same.

Here is an 1800 gambling image,  featuring a woman gambling, which is in my book (but not the roulette table shown here)

For more detailed reading here are some posts from the files of Risky Regencies all about Regency Gambling.

Happy Reading!!!

Don’t forget, A Not So Respectable Gentleman? is on bookshelves and available online, and my new contest is open!

The only card game I’ve played, and it’s been quite a while since I’ve played, is solitaire. Really.

I’m looking forward to your next book! Loved A Not So Respectable Gentleman? :-)

      I play solitaire every day!

When I was a kid, we played cards all summer long out on our screened porch. I married a man who does not play cards and had kids who were not all that interested, but if my cousins come to visit, we and my sisters play a game called Shanghai.

  2. A Not So Respectable Gentleman is on the top of my TBR pile. The one closest to my desk. I get to read it once I finish the current WIP and send it off to those who have requested it. And I REALLY want to read your book!!

I spent the evening of the Beau Monde Soiree in Anaheim playing whist and quite handily too! Baseless accusations were made as to my skill. I continue to deny them all!

When we were children we played Rook all the time, especially in the summer when we visited our cousins. Checking to make sure I have all of those articles in my files, O Divine One.

Now back to the WIP !

My family played canasta when I was growing up. I really enjoyed it, but NOT when my grandfather was playing. He got too upset when we played the wrong card or made moves we didn’t like. I play for fun.
We played lots of solitaire, hearts, and rummy.

I used to spend my summers playing Euchre, Spades, Pinochle, Hearts, Rummy, Spite & Malice, Canadian Euchre (2-handed version), and Spoons. People used to get hurt playing Spoons! :)
