The Duke of Wellington Tour

I made the decision. I am going on the Duke of Wellington Tour in September!

This tour is the brainchild of Kristine Hughes and Victoria Hinshaw of the fabulous blog, Number One London.  In addition to being rabid anglophiles, these two ladies are experienced travelers to the UK, history buffs, authors, and, like me, rather obsessed with the Duke of Wellington (Correction: Kristine is obsessed; Vicky and I are merely passionate about him!)

The tour will take us places I have already been:
Stratfield Saye
The Pavilion at Brighton
Pavilion - Sue P
Apsley House
ApsleyHouseDianneJPG (2)

But it will also go to exciting new-to-me places, like Highclere Castle where Downton Abbey is filmed, Walmer Castle, Windsor Castle, the Tower of London, and the White Cliffs of Dover! See all the details here. I absolutely cannot wait!!

Kristine and Vicky planned the tour with the help of travel agent and friend Patty Suchy who did the 2003 and 2005 tours of England I went on. Sadly Patty lost her battle with ovarian cancer this year and won’t be able to come with us except in spirit. She is part of the reason I was determined to go on this tour.

There are still some places left. Is anyone interested??????

I’m counting down to release day of A Lady of Notoriety. The paperback will be hitting bookstores and online vendors on June 17. There is still time to enter my website contest and the Goodreads contest!

  1. I am so jealous! I had hoped to go on this tour, and have read each of the detailed posts with interest, but it has proved impossible. I know you’ll have a wonderful time.

      1. That’s sweet of you! I would have liked to meet you. I hope you will write lots of detailed blogs reporting on the tour so I can experience it vicariously.
